1.) Flannel weather. It's officially chilly enough outside that I can bring out the flannels tucked away in the back of my closet and start wearing them everyday! If you could see inside my closet you would find that almost half of my winter clothes consist of flannels of all colors (and I still want more). My favorite are the real deal kind of ones, you know the ones from LL Bean that are actually flannel material- Not those fake ones you get from boutique stores at the mall that just look flannel. They are super comfy & warm and you can dress them up or down. You can never go wrong with a good flannel. I currently have my eye on two new ones I found on LL Bean's website that I think I'll be purchasing! 2.) Tennessee beats Georgia 38-31. This past weekend we headed down to Knoxville to watch the Vols go after the Bulldogs in Neyland Stadium. The entire day was great, the weather turned out perfect and we were singing & dancing at the tailgate waiting for kickoff. The crowd in Neyland was a bit down at the beginning considering we were losing 24-3 but by the third quarter the crowd was going wild. It was a nail biter until the clock went zero in the fourth quarter and Tennessee had won the game. It was great seeing the crowd and team players come together and celebrate at the end of the game. I think this win will help boost morale as we head to Tuscaloosa next weekend... 3.) Southern Comfort. On Tuesday Bryan, Auggie, and I piled in the car and headed to my family's house to watch the Cubbies play (they won!) and eat dinner with the fam. This wasn't just any kind of dinner, it was all homemade and the best southern meal you could ask for, besides the brussel sprouts (ew). It was filled with some of my personal favorites- fried chicken, baked mac & cheese, and home style mashed potatoes YUMMM. My uncle who is an ahhhmazing cook was over doing all the cookin' and I told him I would help him out in the kitchen. I kinda regretted that decision once it took me a sold hour to peel all the potatoes and apples, but it was worth it. He also taught me how to make my first apple pie.. from SCRATCH. I've really come to love cooking and since I mastered the apple pie, baking might be next. The pie definitely didn't look to pretty but I promise it sure tasted fabulous. I think sometimes I take for granted that I live within 10-15 minutes of most of my family. I always enjoy being around all the family while cooking up a big meal- I secretly love how chaotic it gets. It always makes for a fun time! Warning: if food pics gross you out don't look at the pictures below..I tried to snap some shots while we were cooking and the yummyness before we dove in.
