HOW FAR ALONG: 16 weeks 4 days
SIZE OF BABY: An avocado WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO: took a vacation to California, had a 3D and 4D ultrasound at 14 weeks where I could see him moving and squirming around. He gave me the bird at one point and mooned me. Didn't feel a single movement which is crazy considering he was in there moving non stop. We revealed our baby's gender to all our friends and family. EXERCISE: I try not to do too much. Out in California I did a lot of walking one day and thought my water had broke because a gush of fluid came out and soaked my jeans. The doctors think it could have been from all the walking and possibly a ruptured membrane. Anyways, it ended up being nothing and I was freaking the entire time thinking it was amniotic fluid. Therefore, I try to limit the physical activity. BODY CHANGES: Still a pretty small bump. Ready for it to make a bigger appearance. SLEEP: Sleeping is hard. I wake up to go pee all the time and my dog has been sleeping on me a lot lately which doesn't help. BEST MOMENT OF THE WEEK: Hearing his heartbeat, it never gets old. 147 heart rate. WORST MOMENT: Thinking my water had broke and the nurse not being able to find baby's heartbeat at first... I was panicking and after about 5 minutes fooling around with the Doppler she had me pull my pants down and found baby boy hanging out extremely low, as soon as she moved the Doppler way down you could hear the sound of a galloping horse (his heartbeat!) FOOD CRAVINGS: Fritos and sour gummy worms. SYMPTOMS: Still no true pregnancy symptoms besides running to the bathroom. I have started to get extremely crampy but it always goes away within a few minutes. WHAT'S GOING ON WITH BABY: Baby is starting to hear voices, he is starting to grow hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. He now has toenails, and his scalp pattern is forming. NEXT APPOINTMENT: 19 weeks for anatomy ultrasound! TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN: I haven't gained one pound since my last apt at 12 weeks so doctor told me to bulk up and increase my calories. I am trying to drink Boost shakes to help put on the pounds! MATERNITY CLOTHES? I bought a couple of maternity dresses from Old Navy, although I don't really need them just yet. I've worn them already a couple times and they are the most comfortable things ever! DIET: I try to eat mostly organic when it comes to meats and fruits. I'm upping my fats and eating a bit more junk now that the doctor told me to put on some pounds. Thanks doc. MISS ANYTHING? Nope! ANYTHING MAKE YOU QUEASY OR SICK? The smell of boiled chicken. GENDER: Boy!! Although I was clueless on what baby was going to be until we got our blood work back that told us the gender. I was convinced it would be a girl while Bryan referred to baby as "he" from day one. Thankful and excited about baby boy! HAPPY OR MOODY? Extremely happy, but I continue to worry about every little thing that I feel. I always think the worst will happen which I am trying to work on. I have been keeping up with a weekly bump picture on my phone through an app but I want to keep those to myself and my husband...here are a couple pictures from my gender reveal party at 16 weeks 1 day that you can see baby boy in!

We're expecting a BOY!!! We are looking forward to meeting our baby boy, SAWYER JOHN HOUSTON come December! We found out the gender right before 13 weeks because of early prenatal testing done through blood work. I received the phone call from my doctors office in the middle of the day at work and I could not contain my excitement. Bryan and I would have been extremely happy for a precious little girl or a sweet little boy regardless, but we were really hoping for a baby boy. Since Bryan and I weren't together at the time of the phone call I wanted to do something special for him to reveal the gender. We are both crazy Tennessee football fans as most of you know, so I wanted to find matching outfits for daddy and son. I rushed over to Alumni Hall and picked out the sweetest Tennessee onesie to match his daddy come football season (for next year). As soon as he walked in the door from work I surprised him and it was one of my favorite moments that I've ever shared with him. We have family and friends all spread out so we were waiting to tell everyone in person when we got the chance. We shared the news with our family and friends in different ways, some found out on Fathers Day weekend, but were waiting to have a gender reveal party for all our friends (and some family) to find out at once before announcing to everyone. Being able to share the news with our family and friends was the best feeling. Almost everyone, besides a select few thought we would have a girl, so almost everyone was completely shocked. Our gender reveal party was one of my favorite days to date. We spent the day with some of our favorite people and couldn't wait to share the news with everyone. Although we kept it simple, we enjoyed a big cookout at our house filled with pink and blue yummies. We did our reveal with a massive balloon that read "He or She? Pop to see!" filled with blue confetti. We were all out in the yard and surprised almost everyone when the blue confetti went everywhere. Words can not explain the joy we have during this special time. God has been truly working in our lives and we owe all this to him. God has answered all our prayers and showed us if we live for him he will provide for us. We are feeling extremely blessed and thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts who took part in our special day. I also want to thank everyone who has reached out and all the kind words we have received over these last few weeks. I can say we've never been so happy. I look forward to these next few months, please keep us in your prayers for the mean time... we cant wait to meet our precious boy, Sawyer!
