Since Summer is coming to an end I figured my first post might as well be a Summer recap of some of my favorite things we've done! This Summer has been nothing short of fun and adventures. This is the first Summer that I've ever been out of school and working a full time job. I was a bit worried that I wouldn't get to experience Summer to its full effect, but no worries, I still did. I work 4 days a week, 10 hours per day to complete my work week so I have long 3 day weekends to look forward to on Thursdays. Most of my Fridays consist of sleeping in, hanging out with my pup, and catching up on things (Netflix, errands, cleaning house) or catching some rays at the pool or lake. Our area has one of the most beautiful lakes, who wouldn't want to spend their day cruising around on a boat, sippin' on some drinks, and taking in beautiful scenery? I have also gotten in some great traveling, visiting family, hanging out with friends, road trips, and some of the best hikes I've ever been on, all this Summer! We started our Summer off with an 8 day cruise with family and friends. Our cruise stops were St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan, and Grand Turk. Want somewhere exciting and neat I recommend visiting St. Maarten, want somewhere super fun (the best beach bar you'll ever go to) with crazy clear water where sting rays become your best friend? Grand Turk! We drove all throughout the Blue Ridge Parkway. People I'm telling you, if you want some good views check it out. This road takes you all throughout the mountains and has some of the best hiking trails. If your on the road and you see a bunch of cars pulled off to the side, it basically means there's a hiking trail.. so if anyone is looking for their next hike, just follow that road and you'll be sure to find some. We stopped at one trail a few weeks ago called Rough Ridge. We made it all the way to the top then popped open a cold one! We spent our 4th of July in Nashville. Nashville is supposed to have the best fireworks in the U.S. however we didn't get to figure that out, it was pouring the rain. We still had fun with our friends, we swam in the rain, and had some of the best food and drinks to celebrate. Bryan and I spent our two year anniversary celebrating in Chattanooga this year. Since Chatt is only a 3 hour drive from us and we have never been there together we thought it would be a fun little get away. I ended up falling in love with this little city. We visited Rock City which was awesome. There's a waterfall that's absolutely stunning on the side of the mountain called "Lover's Leap." I loved the history behind it all as well as the fact you could see 7 states all in one view at the top. We also dined at some neat local places down town. We ended our Saturday night by listening to some live music right on the river. Perfect ending to a great weekend and Summer coming to an end!
