The weatherman was right!! All the snow predictions came true! Friday we woke up to another five inches on top of what we received on Wednesday. Normally I am not a fan of cold weather, but I love when it comes a big snow like this past weekend. With the majority of places being closed both Friday and Saturday due to snow and bad road conditions, we made the best of our snowy weekend out playing in it! Friday we had our friends over and went to the park near our house to sled and snowboard. After playing in the snow for more than a couple hours we came back in to warm up with wine and games. Snow Angels with Emily and Morgan Walking across the park in thick snow isn't easy Group photo before moving on to another hill Sledding is much more fun when there's two to a sled When it looks like your snow boarding but your actually in the process of wiping out Saturday we called my dad to come get us since we knew his jeep would have no issues in the snow. We went out and enjoyed some lunch and went to our favorite bakery down town. If you're a fan of almond flavored cakes, you must try an Almond Cosmopolitan from Blackbird Bakery. They normally sell out quickly but we got lucky on Saturday, there were two left when we arrived! We spent the evening making snow cream, letting Auggie play in the snow while Bryan shoveled our driveway, and watching movies by the fire. Almond Cosmopolitan and fresh Snow Cream in the making Blowing up our air mattress in the middle of our living room made for a great movie night By Sunday the roads were pretty much clear and everyone was starting to venture out. The mountains were still covered in snow and looked beautiful. We wanted to take advantage of the snowy views before they disappeared with the warmer temperatures coming up in the next few days. We found a small hiking trail near Elizabethton and enjoyed the snowy views from the top of the trail. View from the top On our way up the trail We made it!
