HOW FAR ALONG: 24 weeks 4 days! SIZE OF BABY: An ear of corn! He is around a foot long and weighing more than a pound. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO: Working on his nursery and doing some things around the house. We celebrated our 4 year anniversary and now I am counting down the days until Fall! I've never been more ready for fall, pumpkin spice, cooler weather, and my baby shower!! EXERCISE: Walking some throughout the week. BODY CHANGES: The bump is noticeable to anyone and everyone now. My belly itches and I have bumps all over my tummy, doctor said this is common due to increased progesterone. My hips and butt itch like crazy too! SLEEP: I can fall asleep the second I hit the pillow! But wake up throughout the night to go to the bathroom and I also can't sleep past 7 in the morning. BEST MOMENT OF THE WEEK: My family being able to see and feel Sawyer's movements from the outside. I am fascinated every time he moves and you can just watch him go from side to side on the outside of my stomach. Also hearing his heartbeat last week, which is going down, now 143 beats per minute. WORST MOMENT: A few days ago I was having trouble breathing, when I went to lay down in bed I literally lost my breath and couldn't take a deep breath without being in excruciating pain. The pain was in my upper left ribs. I had no idea where it came from and Bryan had to immediately pull me up from the bed. I sat up and still had the pain but was at least able to breathe. A few minutes later (when we were deciding what to do) we were just watching my stomach and all of the sudden you could see a round lump move from my ribs all the way down to the lower part of my stomach. I could immediately breathe and felt a sense of relief. My only guess is baby was nestled up in my rib cage for a period of time. It was crazy to see him completely move down my body. FOOD CRAVINGS: Sour candies. SYMPTOMS: Belly/butt/hip hitching from stretching skin, going to the girls room practically every 30 minutes, I can eat so much food and still be hungry (no joke more than Bryan). WHAT'S GOING ON WITH BABY: He is growing like crazy. His lungs are developing branches and hes practicing breathing inside the womb. His body is filling out proportionally and he is practicing facial expressions as his facial muscles are capable of movement. His brain is growing quickly now and his taste buds are continuing to develop. Baby boy can finally tell if he is upside down or not. NEXT APPOINTMENT: 27 weeks for my glucose test! Which I am super nervous about (mainly because I eat sweets all of the time and my mom developed diabetes while she was pregnant), prayers please! TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN: At my 23 week apt I had gained 14 pounds, which doctor said is right on target. MATERNITY CLOTHES? I can't fit into anything with a button. I had a little bit of a meltdown on Bryan yesterday because I went shopping and nothing fit. Except maternity jeans, which I refuse to buy because they are outrageous! DIET: My diet has been awful. I have really been slacking and I need to work on eating better (which I don't know how I'll do during fall and the holidays). MISS ANYTHING? Sleeping throughout the night. ANYTHING MAKE YOU QUEASY OR SICK? Nope! GENDER: Boy, I will hopefully be posting pictures of his nursery soon. HAPPY OR MOODY? Happy! I love love love being pregnant. It is so amazing what God allows the woman's body to go through. I don't understand how anyone could complain about this process. I would take the pain I had in my ribs a thousand times a day if that meant a baby was in there and well. I don't want to take any of this for granted! On Friday Bryan and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. I was exactly 24 weeks on Friday so I have some pictures below from our outing. We drove to one of our favorite places (Beacon Heights) along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. Beacon Heights is a small hike with an outstanding view. The weather was perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better day. I gave Bryan and a couple other hikers a minor panic attack as I crept down the rock for a place to sit and take in the mountains. We also piddled around the outlets and down town area and stopped in for lunch at a place called Southern Comforts. This place had the best fried chicken I have ever had! Definitely worth a stop if you are ever in Blowing Rock, NC.
