HOW FAR ALONG: 28 weeks 5 days! SIZE OF BABY: A large eggplant! He is around 15 inches long and should be close to 3 pounds. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO: We have completed his nursery, I'll be posting pictures hopefully later this week. My best friend threw me a baby shower, also can't wait to post on it! I have been so busy between work, football season starting up, getting the house ready, and prepping for baby I feel like I haven't had time to breathe. I am enjoying this exciting time and it's gone by faster than I ever imagined, I almost want it to slow down just a little bit. I can't believe I'm already 7 months pregnant! EXERCISE: Still walking some throughout the week. BODY CHANGES: The bump and hips are out, although everyone says I look small, the belly is measuring right on target. I have been getting headaches about once or twice a day that last around 30 minutes. We are thinking they are tension headaches due to my hormones because my blood pressure has stayed normal and no signs of preeclampsia or anything like that (which often causes headaches). I noticed after the first football game I went to and being on my feet for most of the time during the tailgate, my feet and ankles looked like balloons. If I am on my feet for a long period of time I have officially began to start swelling. I've got an annoying rash around my eye that won't seem to go away. Oh and my crazy weird dreams have now started to become nightmares. SLEEP: Less and less and less. I used to not be able to function without sleep, but I go to the bathroom between 3 and 6 times a night now. Between that and the scary dreams, sleep has become less prominent. People tell me this is my body prepping me for lack of sleep when little man comes. BEST MOMENT OF THE WEEK: I would say this weekend in general. On Friday, we went down town for Rhythm and Roots (a music festival that comes to Bristol once a year). On Saturday we all went to one of our tailgate family members house for a little party to watch the Tennessee and Florida game and celebrate baby Sawyer. We had our normal tailgate foods plus some extras in honor of Sawyers celebration (my favorites, almond cupcakes from our local bakery and the host made some amazing chocolate covered strawberries with his initials on them!) We all ate, they drank, and watched Florida beat us on a last second play, booo. We opened some gifts and cant wait to deck Sawyer out in his new Tennessee gear. On Sunday, my best friend threw me my official baby shower with my closest friends and family. The day was amazing and I can't wait to post about it! WORST MOMENT: None this go around, but in other news.. I PASSED MY GLUCOSE TEST! I was really worried about the test because I am addicted to sweets like I've never been before, but by the grace of God I passed! And now I'm celebrating a little bit too hard... FOOD CRAVINGS: Cake! Almond cake to be exact. Also pumpkin soup from our local bagel company. I am obsessed with this stuff and they only make it about once a week so I call them every day and pester them to find out if they are serving pumpkin soup for the day or not. Pretty sure they now know my number by head and ignore my call. I'm not kidding. Last time I bought some the lady told me I just needed to buy the quart size soup. I'm sure it wouldn't reheat as good if I did that, so I said no and went on my way. I know they probably hate me and my annoying antics calling about pumpkin soup daily but oh well, I just wish it wasn't so good. SYMPTOMS: Bathroom breaks all the time, headaches, and vivid nightmares. Other than that I still feel great. WHAT'S GOING ON WITH BABY: Baby can now blink his eyes, produce tears, and sense light from darkness. Studies show babies start to have dreams at this point too. He should be settling down into the proper position for birth around now. I have another ultrasound in a few weeks that will make sure everything looks good and he's not breech. I can't wait to see him. He has developed his own sleep patterns at this point and if he is anything outside of the womb like he is inside we have ourselves a night owl. He is most active at night around 10pm and almost every time I wake up to go to the bathroom his is kicking around like crazy. His main job now is continuing his brain development, finalizing his organs, and gaining fat! NEXT APPOINTMENT: 30 weeks for a regular prenatal apt. Then at 32 weeks I will have my third trimester ultrasound! TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN: At my 27 week apt I had gained 25 pounds. MATERNITY CLOTHES? My cousin lent me all kinds of maternity clothes!! Thank you, Brittany!!!! I really was hoping not to buy much maternity items because they are so pricey. She let me borrow all kinds of jeans and tops. They are so comfortable! I have been wearing dresses pretty much my entire pregnancy but now that we are getting into fall and cooler weather I know the jeans and sweaters are a must. DIET: Ever since I found out I passed my glucose test I can't stop eating sweets.... ugh. MISS ANYTHING? Sleeping throughout the night. ANYTHING MAKE YOU QUEASY OR SICK? Nope! GENDER: Boy. HAPPY OR MOODY? Still happy!! Exhausted, but happy! I love love love being pregnant. I've honestly never felt better. Also my hubby is so excited for baby boy! We both are truly over the moon and I love him now more than I ever have. This process has been such a blessing. Here are a couple pictures from this weekend! We had so much fun! Laughing at Rhythm and Roots because I wore a belly shirt to the music festival last year and this year I'm wearing a baby...oh how the times have changed.. and I love it! We can't wait to meet our newest Volunteer! I had my sister take this picture once we got home from my baby shower.
