This year we traveled to Georgia to spend our Easter weekend with Bryan's family. Good Friday was spent lounging by the pool and taking in the wonderful Georgia weather. This past weekend has me extra excited about Summer days and our vacation, only a few more weeks! Auggie absolutely loves going down to Bryan's parents house so he can play (rough house) with his Uncle JJ. Since their yard in fenced in, we let him run around without a leash and he was having a field day. He even managed to squeeze through the fence and wonder outside but as soon as you would say "treat" he would come running back. Seeing him run for joy without being attached to a leash makes me really wish our back yard was fenced in. Friday night we went to dinner at a certain special place called Luna's. We went to Luna's the first weekend I had ever went to Georgia to meet Bryan's parents. The food is simply amazing and the atmosphere is excellent! Both times we have went they have had a great pianist play while enjoying dinner. Saturday we attended "Mutts on Main" which is an event held in their down town area where you can bring your dogs to the town square for the day. There were all kinds of vendors set up selling dog treats/supplies, a band playing outside, and they even had puppies available for adoption. We took both Auggie and JJ to the event and they had a ball. I felt like I was in dog heaven because of all the dogs that were there. It was pretty amazing to see every dog imaginable from all sizes attend and they were all so friendly. If you are a dog lover in the Gainesville area, this is a must do! The restaurants on the town square will also allow your dogs to sit outside on the patio while you eat which is a major plus. We had so much fun at this event- we ate, shopped, and enjoyed the day with our pups! We celebrated our Easter Dinner on Saturday night since we were traveling back to Tennessee on Sunday. We had a little bit of everything on our Easter dinner menu- seafood, steak, and some delicious sides (one of my favorites I will post sometime this week). Our Easter place settings were beautiful! Sunday we celebrated the true meaning for Easter at a wonderful Church service. The pastor did a remarkable job preaching about the tribulations from Good Friday that Jesus and the people endured and the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" 1 Peter 1:3

Yesterday marked the first day of Spring for this year and I could not be more excited. I am ready for warm weather, lots of sun shine, and being outdoors! Plus Spring only means we are that much closer to Summer, which is by far my favorite season. My priorities this Spring have changed from the past. I am determined to get things done around the inside of our house, take our dog on a walk around the neighborhood every night, and landscape this year! Since we have moved in (August 2014) I had all of these ideas of how I wanted to decorate our home. I never actually put any of those ideas to use because of time, money, and so on. This year I am determined to Spring clean every room in our house and add bits and pieces of decor to each room. Let the Spring projects begin! I've been in the crafty mood lately and plan to attempt a similar wreath for our front door. I'm slightly obsessed with burlap and love the look of this Spring wreath. I saw this pretty picture (above) on my Pinterest home page yesterday and I immediately thought about the pink peonies that will be blooming sometime soon in my back yard. Last year I let my mom and cousin pick a couple from my back yard to use in their home but this year I plan on making a pretty centerpiece with them for my dining room table. Yesterday Michael's had all of their white shabby chic flower vases on sale for 60% off. I bought some of the neatest vases for $4-$6 dollars. STEAL! Spring also gets me excited to sit on the front porch throughout the day and eat on our back porch in the evenings. I will always choose eating on a patio over eating indoors any time the weather is nice. We recently bought a baby gate for our back porch so while Bryan is grilling, Auggie and I can sit outside and hang out with him. I love this coral centerpiece and place mats for our outside table, now all I have to find are some matching outdoor cushions! I would love to make one of these simple outdoor bar tables for our downstairs back porch. We play corn hole right outside of our bottom porch and people always sit and hangout since it's shaded from the upstairs porch. I think this easy DIY bar table would be a perfect fit. With just two wooden pallets and 3 stepping stones for the top, you have yourself a cute little outdoor bar table!
1. Warm Weather! This past week the weather has been sunny and in the 70's...just how I like it! I hope this weather is here to stay. I have broke out my summer dresses and SANDALS! I'm not a big shoe person but I prefer sandals over boots any day. My favorite pair of sandals are the Jack Rodgers Hampton's style in platinum because I can wear them with literally anything. I had to buy a brand new pair on Monday because Auggie ate my last pair. I wear this shoe 90% of the time when it's warm out so it was worth the new buy. This weather has me looking forward to Summer, grilling out, going to the lake, and outdoor adventures! 2. Spring Decor! With Easter falling at the end of March this year I have already put out our Spring/ Easter decorations. I absolutely love Spring colors and how it seems to brighten up our home. Last night I added to the Easter decor I had already put out after painting some Easter eggs - I have always enjoyed painting and decorating Easter eggs (still a kid at heart). I had found some neat ideas on Pinterest with using your colored eggs throughout your home decor and put the inspiration to good use! I loved the final look of the Easter egg decor but forgot to snap a picture. However, I didn't forget to take a picture of our pretty colored eggs. 3. VACATION! After months of deliberation (but really) we have finally booked our vacation for this year. We could not decide between a cruise or an all inclusive resort. We finally decided to go against the cruise since we went on one last year but then couldn't decide on our destination. We were constantly checking Groupon and Bookit for their different deals. FYI- Groupon and Bookit run specials on all inclusive vacations for a great deal, you just have to catch it at the right time. Both sites offer a wide arrange of destinations to choose from. We decided this weekend on our destination and Monday night the site was doing a Flash Sale on the hotel we were wanting to stay at so we booked it right away. The countdown to vacation is officially on!
Since I can remember I have always loved putting on makeup. My mom use to catch me in her massive makeup tub while I would put her lip liner on my eyes or her mascara on my lips. I started wearing make up in 6th grade and looking back on what I thought was pretty eye shadow makes me laugh. I remember always putting on this cream Mary Kate and Ashley brand eye shadow then topping it off with a palette of eye glitter. My favorites were the white glitter and the baby blue glitter, yikes! You could see my sparkling eye lids from a mile away. I would also use a shimmer bronzer powder that made my face look extremely orange, very oily, and way to shimmery. These were some of the products I wore every day in the 6th and 7th grade. Thanks for letting me go out of the house like that, mom. Over the years I have developed a love/hate relationship with makeup. These days there are too many make up products out there that I can't seem to keep up. I love make up because it can hide some blemishes our make you feel/look better, but I also hate it because it's expensive, time consuming, and I can't figure out how to put some of it on correctly. Thank goodness for the people out there who do how-to tutorials! Anyways, during the work week I never really wear a lot of beauty products, but there are five specific items that I couldn't live without. These items are always being used no matter if I'm dressing down or dressing up. These are my go-to beauty products on the regular. 1. They're Real Mascara. I got this mascara in travel size inside my birthday month giveaway bag at Sephora and fell in love with it! The mascara brush is amazing and never makes your lashes look clumpy. After using this mascara a lot of people would ask if I had fake eyelashes on. Because the regular size is $24 at Sephora I tried using a cheaper similar version of a Maybelline product and it's just not the same. They're Real by Benefit is one product that is 100% worth the money. 2. Rock Your Hair Dry Shampoo. I am all about some dry shampoo. My hair gets greasy within 24 hours so I was use to washing my hair on a daily basis. Since it's not good for your hair at all to be watched every day I started using dry shampoo and washing my hair every other day. I have tried many dry shampoos and I have never really settled on one that I love. Until THIS. I went to a jewelry show this fall and they were selling this product along with multiple other Rock Your Hair products. I have used this brand before and have always liked it, especially their Bombshell Powder which gives your hair lots of volume. I had never tried their dry shampoo until then and it works wonders!!! After using this product on your roots, your hair will look freshly washed and smell amazing too! 3. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. This lipstick has a matte finish and I swear it lasts all day, even after drinks, eating, you name it. The color I love in this product is Amore. This is a great every day color and will go with almost any outfit. What I really like about this product is once it drys on your lip the color won't come off on anything. You can have a nice glass of wine and you won't have to worry about scrubbing the lipstick off the glass later. I always try to put some chap stick on before applying the lip stick so it has somewhat of a shine to it and it seems to go on better with a base. This lipstick is a bit expensive- but for me one tube of this will last me almost an entire year because you rarely have to reapply or until your next day use. 4. Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay in Place Makeup. You can use this as a foundation, concealer, or to just cover up a couple spots on your face. This has always been my go-to for everyday wear. It goes on super thin but covers amazing. It last’s all day and never makes your face look oily. I even wore this as my coverage on my wedding day with some powder overtop. I have recently found a much cheaper version of this product and I can honestly say I like it just as much as Estee Lauder… the cheaper form of this product is Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation. Since there really isn’t much of a difference to me between these two products I recommend the cheaper one! I use color intensity 3.0 in Estee Lauder and Classic Ivory 120 in Fit Me Matte. 5. Urban Decay Naked Eye Palette. What I love about this eye shadow palette is the arrange of colors that you have to choose from for any occasion. During the work week I never really wear eye shadow, but If I do I always go with something light colored in this palette. On the weekends or when I go out I always use the middle to darker colors. I have the original Naked Palette but I also want to get the Naked 2. It has a lot of neutral colors that I think I would like. Also, if you have a certain favorite in the palette that you use more than others, you can buy individual refills for a particular shade. My favorite two shades are sidecar and hustle. I love the fact I don't have to carry or pack multiple eye shadows when I go somewhere, I can rely on this one palette for all my colors and different looks.
