1. My little sister. I have to recognize the girl with the sweetest soul you'll ever meet and thankfully she's my baby sister. She's always been one to rely on, make me laugh, and have a good time with. Right now I couldn't be more thankful for her since she's watching Auggie and house sitting for us when we leave for vacation. My pup is obsessed with my sister, it's probably because she's been playing and watching him since the day I brought Auggie home. Lately I've been giving my sis a hard time about not throwing any parties while I'm gone (which is a total joke). She's definitely not one to do that and will probably take better care of our house than I do. Side note: When I had the house to myself at her age I always had parties, once I cleaned my parents' house so well you couldn't tell anyone had been over, but when my mom went to sit in her recliner when she got back from vacation it instantly collapsed to the floor, BUSTED. Sorry rents, I now know what it's like to own your own home and want things to be taken care of. Anyways, thank you Kaley for always being the best sister I could ever ask for. I know my pup and house will be well taken care of while I'm gone. I love you! 2. Race weekend. This past weekend was the Spring Bristol Race, which if you're from Bristol and like to have a good time, you are probably going to attend whether you like Nascar or not. Since high school all my girlfriends and I have been going. Race weekend is the busiest Bristol gets and has never failed to disappoint us. If you're like us and have no clue about Nascar but go to have fun, listen to live bands, and drink some cold ones- you're guaranteed to have a great time. 3. Dominican Republic. ONE MORE WEEK. I think I can, I think I can. These last couple weeks have been crazy busy, but then I think about laying on the beach in the Dominican with a pina colada in hand and all my worries go away. We picked the Dominican after doing some research, talking to some friends, and finding a huge all inclusive resort. The resort has multiple restaurants, swim up bars and clubs, market street for shopping, 5 pools, banana boating, and more. We wanted to go somewhere where we knew we wouldn't get bored and there were plenty of things to do. Bryan and I both like to do adventurous things so we also planned our vacation around things to do on the island. Right now we plan to cave dive in a natural cenote and swim with sharks. I would still like to do another excursion but for now we are waiting until we arrive to plan anything else. Until then, I'll be daydreaming about the D.R.

1. Paws and Pints. This past Sunday one of the local brewery's down town, Studio Brew, hosted their first Paws and Pints event. The Brewery marked off a big area outside where people could hang out with their dogs, drink craft beer, and help out a local animal shelter. Since there was no cover charge to attend the event, they insisted you bring something that could be donated to the animal shelter in exchange. There were a lot of people who showed up with their fur babies and they were able to donate tons of supplies! Auggie loves being around other dogs so any time there is an opportunity to take him out with us we do. It was a great cause - the sunshine, friends, pups, corn hole, and craft beer were just an extra plus! 2. Lace Up Trend. I have to admit, I'm totally into the lace up shirt/dress trend that's making its way back into the fashion industry. This Spring I have noticed every boutique/store I go in carry all things lace up- from dresses, to tunics, to shoes- I love it all. I recently bought a pair of nude lace up flats from Old Navy that go with almost anything and a lace up dress from an adorable boutique in Georgia. I'm obsessed with them both..and now I want more....in every color....and every print.... 3. Landscaping. Since we have moved in our home we have never really put effort into landscaping or yard upkeep (besides the basics like mowing). We have a big area in the backyard that I use to call a landmine because there were just random plants that would bloom here and there and then most of the time it looked like an overgrown/dead blob. This year we decided to hire someone to come in and clean the mess up in our "land mine" and mulch around our entire yard. Now that it's complete, it is amazing the difference a bit of landscaping can make. I wish I had a before and after picture to prove the difference but you'll just have to take my word for it. Now I can actually see all the pretty plants/flowers blooming and it's something nice to see when you pull into our yard instead of an eye sore.
